Miami–Venezuela Fintech Leaders Advance Cross-Border Collaboration

A cross-sector roundtable bringing together leaders from banking, card networks, payment processors, cross-border payments, e-commerce, fintech associations, venture capital, and startup

A cross-sector roundtable bringing together leaders from banking, card networks, payment processors, cross-border payments, e-commerce, fintech associations, venture capital, and startup ecosystems convened to identify concrete opportunities for collaboration between Miami and Venezuela’s fintech sectors.

The discussion focused on the most urgent barriers and opportunities shaping the market, including remittances, payment rails, stablecoins, regulatory clarity, banking infrastructure, and access to investment. Participants aligned on a shared view that Venezuela represents a strategic market with strong demand for innovation, but that regulatory unpredictability, exchange-rate distortions, and gaps in technological interoperability continue to slow adoption and scale.

Among the priorities highlighted were the need to modernize payment infrastructure, enable more efficient cross-border flows, create clearer frameworks for stablecoin and fintech operations, and strengthen coordination between banks, startups, and international players. Participants also emphasized the importance of building founder readiness, expanding investor access, and creating more recurring industry forums to connect the ecosystem.

As a next step, organizers will convene additional thematic working sessions ahead of the upcoming Venezuela Fintech Forum, with the goal of producing a practical proposal paper on regulation, go-to-market collaboration, fundraising, and Miami–Venezuela fintech synergies. The initiative aims to turn dialogue into actionable outcomes that support entrepreneurship, financial innovation, and greater regional connectivity.
